Visit from my parents

From of my parents apartment in Florence they could yell out their window to us down on Via Porta Rossa, which was around the corner from Piazza Signoria. Fantastic location for a vacation, lucky them! This was how we greeted them in the morning before our excursions.
Buongiorno!

Ciao Mom and Dad! Welcome to Italy, now lets go to our favorite castel in Chianti. Castello Di Gabbiano!

... and by the way, while we are here we will be attending a birthday party of our friend Rosita! Rosita is one of our new friends here and she is very sweet and enthusiastic. If only pictures could capture it!

Rosita with friends

Me with Rosita and my Mom, Rosita explaining something in Italian or English that I aparently find very funny.

It was a great birthday party with about 40 people, a lot of great good and wine, a live band, dancing, and a squall. The squall came over the tented terrazza where all of us where seated then poured rain for about 20 minutes then moved on. It added a magical feel to the event that is kind of unexplainable.

Cardoso, Grotta Del Vento and Barga

Cardoso.. a very cute and very small town in the region of Garfangana. We are able to stay in this town thanks to one of Gimmy's friends. It is a very beautiful place.

Grotta del Vento means Grotto of Wind. Which is really exactly what it is and was discovered by 2 boys playing in the wild. It was first just a little hole in the side of a hill and was used as a refrigerator for meats and other things until the boys decided to find out how big the hole really was. Later explorers went to the area to discover the rest of the grotto.

Barga, another very cute and small town but is listed to be one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, there are many windy streets in the center with just about every doorway to a home with flowers and a lot of charm.
